I’ve been going through moving boxes this week and I stumbled upon old negatives I had from my B+W 101 Class in college. I just got a new scanner that scans negatives, so I thought I’d give it a try. I gotta say, I’m super impressed with the quality of the scans:
I’m going to start uploading more, they aren’t the best work I’ve done, but I’m in love with the quality real black and white film gives, as opposed to digital. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE digital and I shoot in it, I just feel like when it comes to black and white photos, film is still top dog…for now at least! 🙂
While you may not look at this as your best work, it has amazing mood and feeling. I find myself still looking for that film quality with my digital now, although its getting closer and closer (or i have figured out how to with PS).
I got the chance to shoot with a 6x7cm again a few days ago, and man that was a blast (first time using film in a few years now)!
I do this mainly as a hobby right now (I race triathlons as my job), but would love to talk to you about possibly shooting/setting up a shoot in the future.
thanks for sharing, some amazing images here.
Thanks David! I definitely agree, film has a feel to it that digital still can’t touch! For film, I shoot with my Canon AE-1, it’s basic but I love it, and my Holga. That helps my film fix, but I would love to eventually own a 6×7 soon! I could REALLY experiment with that! 🙂
I’d love to set up a shoot with you sometime! Let me know!
