I’ve traveled to many places for destination weddings around the US and internationally, but Washington, DC always has been a favorite of mine. It may be the fact that my sister lived there for many years before moving to Colorado this year, so it became a home away from home. Or it could be the fact that the city has so much history and art at every turn. Or it could be the beautiful architecture of the nation’s most important buildings and monuments. Whatever it is, I’m always thrilled to book another Washington, DC wedding. And I will always stay a little longer to explore another corner of the city while I’m there! Finally decided to post my Washington DC photos on the blog today!
View some Washington DC photos I captured while exploring the city in my many visits –
The sun sets over the lovely Arlington Memorial Bridge. What a beautiful winter day!
The sun sets over the National Mall in Washington, DC.
The Lincoln Memorial looks impressive with the uplighting at twilight.
Lincoln sits in his chair, always overlooking the National Mall.
St. Patrick’s Catholic Church has such a Gothic beauty to the architecture.
An impressive organ sits at the back of the church.
Flags wave high from the Smithsonian Institution.
This was a winter trip and the Capitol looked so beautiful at night, over the ice!
The traffic whizzes by the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on a clear night.
Visiting the Jefferson Memorial at night was the perfect time to take in the beauty without tourists!
The view of the Washington Monument from the Jefferson Memorial was stunning.
And of course, a visit to the White House itself!
