Brittnie and Joseph, alumni of the Citadel, were married on a slightly rainy day at the beautiful Summerall Chapel.
I was able to assist Shannon of Silver Vine, which is always a pleasure and we took photos on the Citadel green.

Gold painted magnolia leaf wreaths with Joseph and Brittnie’s initals hung on the pillars of the Summerall Chapel. It was the perfect Charleston touch! Joseph was all smiles throughout the day, and couldn’t wait to see his bride!
With the rain, a first look outside was impossible. We chose the hall that was so special to the couple when they were students of the Citadel. I love when we choose sentimental places for a first meeting! The Summerall Chapel is an exceptionally magnificent church, especially when the aisle is lined with lit candles. Brittnie was beaming as she walked towards Joseph with her father leading the way.
The couple exited through a traditional sword send off for all Citadel alumni who are married at the Chapel.
I had to capture this sweet moment of the flowergirl holding her sign, while the newlyweds signd their marriage license. The clouds opened up and we captured some fun photos of the wedding party and the couple on the green! Brittnie’s cathedral veil floated beautifully for the couples’ photos! I love the Citadel’s architecture in the background! The reception was held at the Cottage on the Creek (link) for a cozy little party, located right off gorgeous Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant.
At the end of the night, the couple took advantage of Shem Creek and had a bubble and boat send off! Before I left, I had to take some night photos of Shem Creek. Such a gorgeous little location of Charleston!
Congrats, Joseph and Brittnie!
