Kyle and Shelley had quite an exhilarating Charleston wedding day with the constant changing weather at Old Wide Awake Plantation. I was second shooting for my wonderful friend Molly Joseph, who I always love working with!
When we arrived to Old Wide Awake, there were storm clouds on the horizon, but it seemed to be holding off. Kyle and Shelley decided to go for it and have the outdoor ceremony as planned, rain or shine, with guests given plenty of umbrellas. As soon as Shelley walked down the aisle with her father, the rain started sprinkling. It was a sweet, fun moment as the rain fell around us to see Kyle and Shelley’s ceremony take place under a grand oak tree.
After the newlyweds were announced, the guests sought cover at the reception building nearby. The rain only held on for a little while longer. Finally, the clouds opened up for us to get some beautiful photos of the bride and groom on the dock.
The rest of the night was filled with dancing and laughter. The best man and maid of honor both gave such sweet and moving speeches about their joy in knowing Kyle and Shelley Then, as the night came to a close, the day ended with an exciting sparkler exit. What a joyful rainy wedding day! Congrats to Kyle and Shelley!
