Karen and Matt had the sweetest affair in the Creek Club at I’On. Every detail was so personal and special to them, the day just felt so warm and filled with love. One detail I absolutely loved was Karen wearing the same pearl earrings that her mom wore on her wedding day. <3
This invitation suite was classic and a photographer’s dream to work with, when styling details! Then Karen had custom cookies made to reflect their interests, including Matt’s love of cycling everywhere!
The Creek Club is such a gorgeous spot, with so many little spots around for portraits! I loved this little pathway for portraits under all the green trees!
Their first look was so heartwarming! Matt just melted at the sight of his stunning bride!
I absolutely love when couples prioritize portraits in their wedding day timeline. It gives them time to breathe and get comfortable around the camera, while we capture so many sweet moments all around their venue.
How sweet were these two? And the ringbearer had a super-hero bowtie that he wanted to show off to everyone!
I love that Karen and Matt decided to have the guests facing out to the marsh. Often the ceremony is facing a beautiful oak tree, but on sunny days, it often gets very bright and hot under the sun in that direction. This way guaranteed that they were in great lighting along with being within the shade!
Their guestbook was one of the best guestbooks I’ve seen printed, outside of using a professional photographer photo lab! It was made by Artifact Uprising and they filled it with photos of their engagement session with me at Hampton Park!
That day, we lucked out with cotton candy pink skies at sunset. We immediately headed towards a public dock to capture the newlyweds in such an incredible setting!
Then when it got dark enough, we planned a night portrait to give them a 5 minute break from dancing! I knew I had to use those grand oak trees around the property! The best part about night portraits is that you basically are in pitch black darkness, aside from the flashes going off, yet you get these bright fun photos as a result!
To finish the festivities, all the guests lined up on either side of the stairway to blow bubbles for the newlyweds! And then they ran to their golf cart getaway with a final wave of goodbye to everyone!
Congrats, Karen and Matt, what an incredible day!

[…] Whenever a couple wants Lowcountry nature in their engagement session with oak trees, spanish moss, and tons of greenery, I always recommend Hampton Park. Most of the time it’s a quiet place, away from the tourist spots, You can avoid the crowds and take your time posing with each other in such a stunning location. Karen and Matt were the absolute sweetest couple and really shined with their love in front of the lush landscape we had in the park! They also decided on similar color tones in their outfits without being too matchy, to give it a fresh modern feel. I had so much fun at the session and we all knew their wedding day was going to just continue the fun (you can view their wedding here). […]
