Katie and Matt decided to have the gorgeous I’On Creek Club as their wedding venue from start to finish! I was helping a great photographer and friend, Shannon Rae, with wedding photography.
We started the day with getting ready photos at the quaint Inn at IOn and then moved to the open courtyard of the Jacob Bond House across the street for a first meeting! There they had a quiet moment (with no peeking!) together holding hands. Katie had brought along her diary, dating back to when they first started dating up through their engagement. Such a moving moment, seeing Matt flip through pages and hold Katie’s hand tighter.
From there we headed out to the IOn Creek Club down the road for the gorgeous ceremony under an oak tree. As the day went on, it was clear that Katie and Matt had such a wonderful group of family and friends to support them and celebrate their marriage. It was such an authentic, joyful occasion!

I never skip a chance to hang a lovely dress on a Magnolia tree!
Moss and diamonds go hand in hand for those ring photos!
Katie had the biggest smile during this sweet moment!
I absolutely loved the vibrant colors and succulent accents to Katie’s bouquet! Paired perfectly with her vintage shoes!
Each guest was treated to glass bottles of Coca Cola to help get through the Charleston heat!
Their dessert table was mouth watering! Tiers of cupcakes, along with small gourmet cakes and sweets everywhere!
When you are right by the water for your wedding day, it’s a must to go out at sunset and take some portraits! We went by the edge of the marshes, as well as walking along the adorable white dock at the IOn Creek Club.
Congrats to the newlyweds!
