Ashleigh and Bobby had the sweetest wedding day, amidst the rain showers that passed over Alhambra Hall in Mt Pleasant! And I was able to work for a great photographer and friend, Shannon Rae of Silver Vine.
The day started off with me covering the guys getting ready, while Shannon got photos of the girls. Bobby and the boys got ready at a perfect beach home in Charleston. I had so much fun photographing the sea elements with their wedding bands!

Luckily, even though we had a lot of rain that day that pushed the ceremony inside, the sun broke through the clouds every time we were needing to get a portrait. Charleston is so beautiful wherever you turn. I was able to get a few different group shots of Bobby and groomsmen before we got ready for the first look! I love Alhambra Hall for weddings, since it is so beautiful inside and out. The rain clouds came in when we were doing bridal photos with Ashleigh, but that didn’t stop us and we made use of the beautiful wrap around porch. Love the palm trees in the background! Before the first look with Bobby, we had to take a moment for Ashleigh to see the first man in her life, her father. Such an emotional moment!
I love first looks so much for so many reasons. It helps calm nerves and gives the couple time to just relax and talk to each other. Most importantly, it gives them a quiet moment together. Wedding days often go by too fast and it’s good to stop and cherish a moment. Even thought the ceremony was relocated inside, the wooden beams and wide open space made for such a stunning ceremony. And before I headed off, Shannon and I took the newlyweds out for a few more portraits together. Just as the clouds opened up!
Congrats, you two!
