Charleston Wedding Photographer Kate Timbers began her photography journey early on.
One of my fondest memories as a child was when my grandfather visited America & took me out to see the paintings & sculptures of the Art Museum in Philadelphia. I had always loved art, but that visit opened my eyes to all the possibilities creativity can accomplish. From then on, I experimented with various mediums of artistic expression, always coming back to photography. There was something so fascinating about preserving a moment...a glance...a feeling in an instant. One image could bring back so many emotions & memories that would've otherwise been forgotten. I soon knew what my calling was. I was to create artfully made, meaningful images to share with everyone I met. I am a Charleston wedding photographer and I love Charleston wedding photography with all my heart.

I began my formal study of photography in college, while also learning from masters of photojournalism in the streets of Philadelphia. I started to explore styled fashion shoots with a talented network of models, stylists, & designers. These studies gave forth my unique approach to photography, by blending candid photojournalism with posed stylistic portraits. My photography has been featured in various publications & galleries, including Main Line Today, The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware Bride, 55 Hours Weekly, Around Main Line, & the Wilmington Art Crawl. I'm a proud member of the Professional Photographers of America & am fully insured and licensed.
I currently reside with my husband & pup in the beautiful city of Charleston, SC.
THE FOOD
While there are so many things to do & see in Charleston, as a self-proclaimed foodie, I have to mention the culinary scene first! With so many restaurants, it can be overwhelming, but if I had to pick two places to go, it would be FIG & Xiao Bao Biscuit.

The Sights
From the spanish moss hanging from rows of oak trees to the pastel colored historic homes of Rainbow Row, Charleston never ceases to inspire me with it's old world, romantic, southern charm. No skyscrapers to block your view as you walk down the French Quarter and hear the clip clop of horse drawn carriages.
The History
As a daughter of a history teacher, it's my mission to see every landmark in Charleston. This city is full of history, which is vibrant at times, yet also is dark with crimes humans have committed against each other. Learning its history teaches me to make use of my time here & make the world a better place, in any small way.
The Charm
One thing that drew us to this city was the friendly, relaxed attitude of the people you meet. Strangers smile & say hello on the street, people are considerate towards others, & there is a sense of community in each town you see. That combined with so many things to do makes this little city feel like home in an instant!

Cooking is an art form & luckily, we're in the midst of great chefs here in Charleston.

My Favorite things
Kate was absolutely incredible! She did a fantastic job working with the whole crowd, us as the bride & groom, all of our wedding party, & our guests. She traveled to shoot our wedding. She was so easygoing, calm, yet helped us keep the day moving and shot all of the photos we were hoping to get (and so many more). She's extremely responsive and very thoughtful, which was incredibly helpful throughout the whole wedding process. I still have a hard time choosing which pictures to display in my house because I have so many amazing ones to select from! We highly recommend Kate Timbers Photography!!

My husband & I are not super comfortable around the camera, but Kate has such a great easygoing personality that she made us all feel so comfortable & the photos reflect that.
We also did engagement photos with her, which I am so glad that we did. The photos are great and it made us more comfortable for the wedding day. We love our wedding photos, especially all of the candids.
She was also very flexible with travel, since our wedding was a couple hours away from where she is located. Overall, a fantastic experience. We are so glad we chose her!

We clicked with Kate immediately! She has a fantastic eye for detail, makes you feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera, & loved the idea of having our yellow lab [in the photos]. We couldn't wait to have Kate document our wedding. She & her assistant were ninjas! They got everything from gorgeous getting ready shots & magazine quality photos of my dress to candids capturing the emotion of a moment. After sharing pictures, friends & family commented that it was like being at the wedding again - exactly what you want your pictures to evoke! First off, Kate's infectious laugh will get you through your big day no matter how hectic it gets! Kate is a very organized & punctual businesswoman, on top of being an incredible photographer. We have some large prints framed in the house, including a panoramic of the bridal party, & all the images are sharp, clear & so colorful!
Kate also photographed my sister's wedding before mine so I already knew that decision for me would be easy. I'm only sad that Kate isn't up here in the Philly area full time, as the Carolinas are very blessed to have her talent available there now!

We loved having an upbeat photographer for our wedding. Kate made the tedious process of family photos an efficient & enjoyable process. She has an uncanny ability to capture great moments. We had items that were of very high importance, which she captured beautifully. I had a bridal shoot before the wedding, which helped reduce the amount of photos for the wedding, so I highly recommend one. We also loved our printed photo cards (from the engagement session), so guests knew when & where to find the photo galleries after the wedding.

HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL?
MY TRAVEL IS LIMITLESS! FOR MORE DETAILS ON COST, PLEASE CONTACT ME HERE.
Do you work with a second photographer?
Yes, every wedding includes a second photographer. I feel that this gives the most of your coverage and I don't take this out of any collection to lower the price.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I am 100% insured. I can also provide a certificate of insurance to your venue ahead of time. I TAKE THIS BUSINESS THING SERIOUSLY!
How do I book my date?
a deposit of $500 and a signed contract must be given to me. I do not pencil in dates without these two things, since my days are extremely in demand.
What happens if you are sick or injured on the wedding day?
I have photographed over 200 weddings & have been in business for almost 10 years...I have never missed a wedding. So if this were to happen, it would be very serious. If this happens, I have a network of photographers, including my second photographer, who are able to step in to replace me. They are all seasoned professional photographers, who shoot in a style very similar to my own.
