I have done so many weddings at the beautiful gardens of Magnolia Plantation (link). In every corner, there is a new spot to take gorgeous photos of the intertwining pathways and flowers. So when Melissa and Beau told me they were going to do their engagement photos there, I was on cloud nine.
We had a hot, but beautiful day in Charleston, SC. There was a threat of a storm (like it always is with Charleston summers), but we only had a few spots of rain pass over. Melissa lined up a few changes of outfits, going from formal to casual for the both of them. She picked the best quintessential Charleston styles, tailored and fresh! They were the best dressed people in the park that day.
We wandered all through the gardens and by the picturesque marshes and river. All the while, we were talking and laughing. My favorite part of an engagement session isn’t the photography. It’s the fact that I get to know each couple so well before the wedding day. We are friends before the biggest day of this couple’s life. When you spend 8+ hours together on a wedding day, you most certainly should enjoy each other’s company!
So as we spent time walking all over the plantation, I quickly saw how happy and in love these two were. How they cared for each other, their family, and their dog. How they enjoyed each moment to the fullest.
I hope I captured this uplifting energy in the engagement photos, from our time crossing the red bridge, to dancing under the Spanish moss at sunset.
